How I Reduced My Hair Fall Naturally at Home (My Simple Routine for Long Hair)

For a long time, I struggled with hair fall. Every time I combed my hair, I could see strands coming out. Since I have very long hair, even a small amount of shedding felt scary.
Instead of trying expensive treatments, I decided to follow a simple and consistent natural routine at home.

🌿 My Hair Oil Blend for Reducing Hair Fall
I use a simple mixture of:

  • Castor oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Vitamin E capsules

Since coconut oil freezes in winter, I gently warm it using the double boiling method. I don’t overheat it — just slightly warm.

Then I add:

  • 1 spoon of castor oil
  • 3–4 vitamin E capsules (because my hair is very long)

Castor oil is very thick, so I always dilute it with coconut oil to avoid stickiness.

Soulflower Cold-Pressed Castor Oil
I mix everything well before applying.

💆 How I Apply It
Before oiling, I comb my hair to remove tangles.

Then I apply the slightly warm oil mainly on my scalp and massage gently for around 10–15 minutes. Scalp massage is very important because it improves circulation and strengthens the roots.

I leave the oil on for 1–2 hours while doing my regular household work.

🚿 How I Wash My Hair
After 1–2 hours, I wash my hair with normal temperature water — not too hot, not too cold.

I use a mild shampoo to avoid dryness. Harsh shampoos can increase breakage and weaken the roots.

Currently, I prefer using
Mamaearth Onion Shampoo (Sulfate-Free)
Since castor oil makes my hair soft, I usually skip conditioner.

🥗 My Diet for Healthier Hair
Hair care isn’t just external. I also focus on diet.
Every morning I try to eat:

  • 5–6 soaked almonds
  • 1–2 fresh gooseberries (amla)

I also avoid packaged and processed foods as much as possible.
Amla provides Vitamin C, and almonds provide healthy fats that support hair strength.

📈 Did This Routine Help?
This is not an overnight miracle.
But after being consistent:

  • Hair fall during combing reduced
  • Less shedding during wash
  • Hair felt stronger and smoother

Consistency made the real difference.
